Location: The Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery

It's Robbie Burns Night! What better way to start the celebrations than with a talk and discussion about the Scottish bard! We might even throw in some Scottish Shortbread too!

In celebration of Robbie Burns night, this discussion will highlight works with links to the poet Robert Burns from across the University's Special Collections.

There will be the opportunity to see articles and manuscripts relating to Burns' life, writing, and literary influences, and to learn more about how these items passed into the collections at Leeds. A short presentation will be followed by questions and discussion.

Free event, all welcome. No booking necessary.

Continuing our celebrations for Robbie Burns Day, we invite you to experience the art of Scottish Country Dancing and the Ceilidh here at the gallery!

Join the University of Leeds' Scottish Country Dance Society and warm those cold toes with the Duke of Perth, the Gay Gordons and the Virginia Reel!

Our celebrations for this most revered and famous poet will begin at 12midday in the Gallery's Education Room with a short talk and discussion about the items within the University's Special Collections, which relate directly to the bard himself.

We do hope you will be able to join us for some, if not all of the events on this day, and perhaps we shall see you over a nice piece of shortbread and a good old brew!

Tartan encouraged but not compulsory!

This is a free workshop but please do book in advance. Some tickets will be available on the day.
