High Demand Collection

The Library's High Demand Collection contains items known to be in heavy demand by students. It is shelved in the Edward Boyle Library and Health Sciences Library.

Why use the High Demand Collection?

  • It maximises student access to essential reading items during a given period (eg in preparation for a seminar or essay)
  • It provides access to material in an emergency (eg unpredicted demand, copies on order have not arrived)
  • It improves circulation of books of which we have limited copies (eg those which are out of print or very expensive)
  • If you yourself have the only copy available, you may place it in the High Demand Collection for a period for your students to borrow.

Your faculty team librarian can advise you about the suitability of material for the High Demand Collection and help you decide the best course of action.
