What will happen when I arrive?

Ring the bell and a member of staff will let you in. For security reasons, you will need to leave your bags and coats at reception. We have dedicated storage areas, which are staffed at all times. Clear plastic bags are available if you want to take valuables into the reading room. You can also take in and use your laptop - there are power points in the reading room and the group study areas.

Items are not on open shelves. Fill in a request slip, stating the author (if any), title and shelf mark for each item you wish to look at, and a member of staff will get it for you. You can do all the research in advance by searching our catalogues and databases online.

If you have ordered documents from the University Archive they will be ready for you on arrival. Staff will not be able to retrieve University Archive material on demand.
