Work on the University's new flagship building is timetabled to begin in July 2013, with a view to the library opening its doors to students in early 2015. As reported in the previous blog post, it ...
Vision
The new library will support student learning by providing a gateway to information in all formats and an inspirational study environment. This outstanding facility will benefit both the University's students and the wider Leeds community. It will broadcast our commitment to excellence, expressing our vision to provide students now and in the future with a rich learning experience which supports their academic development through a wide variety of study methods and an exceptional range of resources.
Plans
Early design concept plans for the new library were displayed around the University earlier this year.
When the plans are finalised they will be available on this page.
Milestones
Initial project milestones:
- Autumn 2012: planning application submitted to Leeds City Council
- February 2013: planning application successful!
- July 2013: building work starts
- Early 2015: new library opens
