International Open Access Week: Beyond open access

Join us on the morning of Friday 23 October to be part of a discussion about open research at Leeds.

As part of our commitment to robust and world-leading research, we are pleased to present an online event during this year’s International Open Access Week, and ask for your input into a University open research strategy.

Beyond open access: how, why and what's next for open research at Leeds? takes place at 9:30am on Friday 23 October.

With an introduction from our new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Simone E. Buitendijk, the event includes a keynote address by Professor Sir Duncan Wingham, Leeds alumnus and chief executive of the Natural Environment Research Council. We will hear from academic colleagues from different parts of the University about their own open practices and why it is vital in their discipline.

Colleagues are also invited to complete a short survey to explore attitudes towards open research practices across the University of Leeds, for example, sharing of data, code and materials, study preregistration and related activities to ensure the efficiency, reliability and reproducibility of research. Whether or not you are aware of such practices, experienced in using them, or even deem them to be necessary, your opinion is vital and the results will feed into an Open Research strategy for the University. Preliminary results will be shared at the online event.
