Manuscript and typescript copies of 12 of Ben Turner's poems (held in one gold box). The volume also includes a manuscript copy of a letter to Dorothy Una Ratcliffe, dated 2nd November 1937, concerning the sending of the poems to Ratcliffe by Turner, 2 photos of Sir Ben Turner, 1 news cutting about Sir Ben Turner from Who is Who 1935 and 1 letter from N. E. Turner to Mr Symington.

Biography or history

Sir Ben Turner (1863-1942) was an English trade unionist and Labour Party Member of Parliament for Batley and Morley. He was a founder member of the INdependent Labour Party in 1893.
