Description
Imprint from incipit on leaf [2r] which reads: Theoloyce veritatis co[m]pendium alphabetico ordine registratum ac in regali opido vlma per Joa[n]nem zainer impressum feliciter incipit.
Formerly attributed to Albertus Magnus.

Printed with 40 long lines to a full page.

No signatures or catchwords.
The first and last leaves are blank.

Features

Marginal annotations in black ink manuscript on leaves [45v] and [149v] in the same hand as the second inscription on the front pastedown.
Some worm damage to the covers and text block.
The two blank leaves are missing from this copy.
Bindings
Late fifteenth- or early sixteenth-century German binding of blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards. The upper and lower covers are decorated with a border of quadruple fillets with roundels containing a rose motif. On the upper cover is a central panel containing small lozenge-shaped stamps with a bird motif, possibly a stork or crane, within diagonal fillets. Surrounding this is a running pattern of stamps featuring a stag, deer, a hunter with a bow, and trees. On the lower cover the central stamped panel contains small fleurs-de-lys surrounded by the same running pattern as on the upper cover. In the four corners of both the upper and lower covers is a lozenge-shaped stamp containing a lamb and flag motif. The spine has three raised bands and is gold-tooled with the words: Albertus Magnas [sic] Brotherton Collection. Venice 1473. There are the remains of a single decorated metal clasp on the upper and lower covers, with the catch on the upper cover. Size: 288 x 210mm. Leaf size 273
