Description

Vertical catch words.


Decoration: 3-line initial in gold on a blue and green ground and a penwork border in purple with flowers and a bird (f. 1r). 2-line initials in blue and red throughout for beginnings of texts.


The first part of the text (ff. 1r-23v) in red and brown ink for alternate paragraphs, and with extensive marginal annotation in Latin and Spanish. An elaborate marginal drawing of a pointy hand on f. 18v to highlight a section.


Written in humanistic book script.


Principal contents: various ordinances and other texts relating to the Carthusian Order, including a part of the Statuta Antiqua, and (the main text of the manuscript, ff. 40r-103r) De forma prima electionis by Guido de Pisis.
