Description

Records, 1885-1919, in chronological order.


1. Debtors' Ledger. 1885-1898. Accounts of named purchasers of yarn and noils. All seem to be located in West Riding. Discounts on payments are detailed.


2. Creditors' Ledger. 1885-1910. Accounts of named suppliers of raw materials of all kinds, repairs, utensils, machinery, carriage and other services. Suppliers are mainly from the West Riding but some are in Lancashire and Constantinople. Loose correspondence about renting spinning rooms from Craven and Craven, Waterloo Mills, Bradford, 1895. Indexed.


Items 3-5 each contain several hundred invoices, mainly from West Riding suppliers, for a great variety of goods and services obtained and used in the running of the business.

Christopher Waud and Company, of Britannia Mills, Bradford, were worsted spinners, using mohair and alpaca, established in 1825.
