Searching the web

Using a search engine is the easiest way to find information on the web, but it may not all be good quality - we will look at this in more detail later.

Google is the most popular search engine, but there are others including Yahoo and Ask.

Search engines aren't able to find absolutely everything on the web and the results you get from each can be different so it can be a good idea to try using a few.

Remember that search engines:

• Search an enormous number of websites, so you may end up with a huge number of results
• Rank your results according to their own criteria - not necessarily how relevant they are to your search
