Edward Boyle Library refurbishment

The fully refurbished Edward Boyle Library opened on 3 January 2017. It offers a comfortable, inspiring and technology rich study environment, containing:

  • Over 2,000 study spaces, group and silent study
  • Bookable group spaces
  • CafĂ©
  • Research hub for postgraduates on level 13
  • IT computer clusters
  • Teaching and training facilities
  • Accessible student studies
  • Science, engineering and social sciences research collections

Work began in 2015 on a full refurbishment of the Edward Boyle Library, to improve infrastructure (heating, lighting, ventilation), and to allow the development of new facilities.

The building remained open during term-time, but closed for much of the summer vacations (in 2015 and 2016).

More books will move into the new Edward Boyle during summer 2017.
