Key databases for Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies

If you need to find journal articles about a subject that you are researching or studying, it is important to search journal databases. Oxford Art Online

Oxford Art Online offers users the ability to access and search the content of Grove Art Online and other Oxford art reference resources in one location. The database gives users access to the more than 23,000 subject entries, 21,000 biographies, 500,000 bibliographic citations, 40,000 image links and 5,500 images contained within Grove Art Online, as well as allowing you to search for full-text entries in Oxford Companion to Western Art, Encyclopedia of Aesthetics and Concise Oxford Dictionary of art terms. The database is updated quarterly.

An online resource for visual arts. It has provided services to the academic community for 12 years and has built up a considerable portfolio of visual art collections comprising over 100,000 images that are freely available and copyright cleared for use in learning, teaching and research in the UK.
