Key databases for Human Geography

If you need to find journal articles about a subject that you are researching or studying, it is important to search journal databases. Type your topic into the search screen of the database to obtain a list of relevant journal articles, and remember to look at help screens or Library guides to make the most of what is on offer.

Passport

Data and market research reports on consumer markets worldwide.It includes market analysis and statistics, forecasts, information on the top brands and companies in a country or sector, and overviews of the major market factors. Search either by keyword, or by using the headings at the top of the screen to choose the type of information. Updated monthly.

Nexis

An excellent source of news information, including international newspapers, trade publications and company information. All articles are available in full text. It is easy to use but remember to narrow down your search by limiting the dates or by choosing a specific set of newspapers. For example you can choose to search across all English language newspapers, or just UK national newspapers. Updated daily.

Popline

This database enables you to search for journal articles, reports, books and unpublished reports in the fields of reproductive health, population studies, family planning, HIV/AIDS and related health issues, particularly in a developing country context. Popline includes links to the full text of free online documents.
