Jay Sillence is a true creative (with turquoise hair to boot!): An artist, animator, illustrator, photographer and film maker. Mike Cooper is an experienced creative practitioner and film maker. Together they form two thirds of The Creative Condition, a York based creative agency. Highly trained in a gamut of areas spanning from film making and videography, marketing and PR, to illustration, photography and animation, Jay and Mike will be here at The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery to help you to develop and create your own films in this new and exclusive Burton Saturday event.
From initial ideas generation Mike and Jay will take you through the processes of storyboarding, role delegation, a how to on using the hi-tech professional equipment to hand and finally the shoot.
Join the group next week, on Saturday 29th March 1.30-4pm, to edit and then screen what you have produced in this day long workshop.
Refreshments will be provided during the afternoon, but please bring your own lunch. There are plenty of cafes and shops nearby for purchasing food and drinks too if you prefer. Lunch will take place between 1 and 1.30pm.
This is a free workshop but places are limited so please book in advance. A refundable booking fee of £5.95 will be taken upon booking. This will be returned to you on arrival at the workshop. Cancellations within 48 hours of the event will not be eligible for a refund.

Jay is resident artist, animator, illustrator and photographer as well as co-film maker, and Artistic Director of The Creative Condition. He is an accomplished creative in his own right. With a history in theatre design, stop motion and 2D animation and sculpture across the country from Wales, Chester and London, he turned his head to cinematography and promotional video content creation and works with the rest of his team to give their work an invaluable flair.
Mike Leigh Cooper is an experienced creative practitioner who has worked in both the UK and Europe for clients such as the European Commission, BBC, Channel 4, NHS and Royal Shakespeare Company who aims to enrich the arts through media production and inclusive facilitation - specialising in video production: from storyboard to screen. Having worked with leaders in the fields of public broadcasting, disability arts, cross-continental collaboration and youth projects, Mike helps bring ideas to life throughout the whole creative process with his energy and passion that shines through the stories of projects he engages in.
