Show description +

As part of our 'In Focus' talk series, which looks at the processes of collecting and making works of art and literature, we welcome Rob Oldfield into the Gallery to discuss his unique practice and some of his many projects to date.

York based Rob Oldfield is a man of many talents! Dividing his time between his signwriting work; gilding; and his graphic design business; as well as working as a specialist in the design and production of museum exhibitions and heritage centre interiors; Rob also works as a tutor and studio technician at the University of York St John.

Rob uses a mixture of traditional techniques and modern technology in all his work and he hopes that his love of the traditional, and the attention to detail that he lavishes on his work, will imbue the same enthusiasm in others.

Rob's clients are based nationally and have included the RNLI, National Trust, Betty's & Taylors of Harrogate (of tea shop fame), L'Occitane UK and The National Railway Museum to name a few.
