Tuesday Treasure: Maps, maps, maps

Love maps? November's Tuesday Treasure is definitely one for you as we highlight the Whitaker Collection of maps and atlases.

Join us for November’s Tuesday Treasure to see highlights from The Whitaker Collection. We will be traversing counties and entire worlds through atlases, road books and maps of Yorkshire from the 16th–19th century.

The collection consists of over 500 atlases and maps of Great Britain. These were presented to the University in 1939 by Dr Harold Whitaker, a former member of the Yorkshire College. Come join us on this whistle-stop world tour and learn more about the man himself and how maps and navigation have changed over the centuries.
