Make it Social: Concrete Poetry Writing Workshop

Get creative and explore the world of visual and concrete poetry in the first ever Make it Social at Leeds University Library Galleries.

Join us for a relaxed evening of creativity, cake and conversation.

Get hands-on at this creative writing workshop and get an introduction to concrete poetry. Gain a unique insight into the exciting and varied methods and aims of visual and concrete poets, then give it a go yourself!

You will start with a quick tour of the "Poetry by Design" exhibition, currently on display at The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery. Workshop leader and poet, Dr Kimberly Campanello will then take you through practical writing exercises which will help you discover and develop your own visual poems using materials provided. No prior writing experience is required.
