Discover the long and celebrated career of Kevin Crossley-Holland through items from his archive, held by Special Collections. Objects from his private collection will also be on display. The exhibition has been curated by Dr Catherine Batt, Senior Lecturer in Medieval Literature at the University of Leeds.

Kevin Crossley-Holland is well-known for his poetry, novels, traditional tales and translations. He has won prizes including the Carnegie Medal and the Guardian Children’s Fiction Award. He is also beloved by generations of readers for his Arthur Trilogy.

Themes of myth, magic, landscape and history are found throughout Crossley-Holland’s work. This exhibition reveals the roots of these fascinations in his own childhood, and beyond.

With original artwork on display, the exhibition also focuses on the illustrators who Crossley-Holland has worked with.
