Celebrate the Gallery's community project organised together with Leeds-based charity People in Action

17 and 31 August 2013

The Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery's Education Officer Claire Evans and work experience student Rosemary Eade have been working with People in Action, a Leeds based charity that offers support and socially inclusive services in education, well-being, independent living and recreation.

Claire and Rosie delivered a series of five art workshops for a small group of people with learning difficulties and disabilities at the Gallery, which will culminate in a week-long display in the Gallery's Education Room. The group has been learning a range of art making techniques including drawing, printmaking, collage and relief casting whilst taking inspiration from the artworks on display in the Gallery.

A celebration event will be held with refreshments and nibbles on 22 August 2013, 1.30-3.30pm.
