Microsoft Word and EndNote

Create a separate bibliography

You can create an independent bibliography to show just a list of references without any preceding text or citations.

Watch our video on how to create a standalone bibliography:

To create a standalone bibliography:

  1. In your EndNote library, select your referencing style by clicking on any reference, then go to the Summary tab and change the style on the dropdown menu at the bottom of the box.
  2. Highlight the references you want to include. To choose all the references in your library, go to the Edit menu and choose “Select All”.
  3. Go to the References menu and select “Copy Formatted”.
  4. Paste the references into a Word document.
