Deposit in Research Data Leeds

Follow these steps to deposit your research data in the Research Data Leeds repository.

Decide how your data will be divided

You can deposit data as single or multiple datasets.

To decide whether to divide your data, you should identify the natural subdivisions of your research project and think about how your data reflects those natural subdivisions.

Tell us that you want to deposit your data

Once you are prepared, fill in this form with information about your research data and any significant deadlines (if you are publishing a paper). We aim to allocate a DOI within two working days.

We will then contact you to confirm your request, secure you a DOI to include in a publication, and help you to complete the data deposit template.

Sample dataset

For a good example, see this sample dataset deposited in the Research Data Leeds repository.

The researchers in this example selected the relevant data for their publication, and considered how best to organise the data into related sections so that it is easy to display and navigate.

The Readme.txt file explains what files are included in the dataset and how they relate to each other.

The dataset has been assigned a DOI to provide a persistent link and enable formal citation and tracking like other types of scholarly publication.
