Dialect and Heritage

Get involved

May 2022: Volunteering opportunities

Are you interested in getting involved in the project in a more hands-on way?

We are currently looking for volunteers based near all five of our partner museums, particularly Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings and the Weald and Downland Living Museum.

If you are confident, friendly, have good verbal and/or written communication skills and enjoy meeting and talking to new people of all backgrounds, we would love to hear from you!

There are also opportunities for people to get involved with some of the “behind the scenes” work including data entry and transcribing oral histories and interviews.

If you are interested, please contact us at dialectandheritage@leeds.ac.uk.

Get involved with the Dialect and Heritage project

Do you think a family member or friend might have been involved in the original Survey of English Dialects? If so, we want to hear from you!

Were you involved with the Institute of Dialect and Folk Life Studies at the University of Leeds in any way? If so, we want to hear from you!
