Special Collections temporary research space with reduced opening hours
Monday 3 August until Friday 18 December
From August, we will host a pop-up Research Centre in the Brotherton Library, open 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm, Monday to Friday, and 10am to 1pm on alternate Saturdays.
The temporary research space is located off the Brotherton Library Level 3 Reading Room, next to the Enquiries office.
Please contact us at least 72 hours before your visit and let us know which items to retrieve during this period.
Previously arranged teaching sessions for semester one will take place in the Sheppard Room, located in the Treasures of the Brotherton Gallery.
Level 3 Reading Room closure
Wednesday 3 June until Wednesday 10 July
While polishing takes place, there will no access to the Brotherton Library level 3. Shelf items can be accessed on level 4, however we would not recommend studying here while work takes place due to noise and odour from the machinery.
A retrieval service will be in place during this time for items held on these floors and in the West Building.
Self-service machines, enquiries, printing and copying facilities will be made available on level 3 during this time. This will be accessible by lift.
West Building closure
Monday 1 June until Wednesday 10 July
There will be no access to the West Building, including laptop lockers, shelf items and cluster PCs, during the period while the level 3 reading room is closed. We will retrieve items held in the West Building on request.
Variable West Building access
Wednesday 10 July until Monday 2 November
Access to the West Building is subject to change across this period.
Access to subject items
Sunday 8 June until Friday 18 September
English, Bibliography and General Literature will be moving, along with all stack items and journals. As such, these may not be where you expect. A retrieval service will be in place during these dates.
