Decide what data to keep

Keeping "everything" may not be desirable or necessary. Select data for long term retention which:

  1. has long term value
  2. would be impossible to reproduce
  3. would be expensive to reproduce
  4. underpins your publication

Research data is only useful if it can be understood and reused.

  1. Keep or create contextual documentation
  2. Anonymise your data
