Open to the public Monday, 1pm - 5pm; Tuesday - Saturday, 10am - 5pm.

Closed Sundays, public holidays and when University buildings are closed. Please see the University Almanac for details of University closures.

Admission is free.

Who we are

Part of Leeds University Library, the Treasures of the Brotherton Gallery is the new public face of the world-renowned Special Collections held at the University of Leeds.

Entrance is free for visitors to experience the University's exceptional collections. The permanent display contains many highlights including Shakespeare's First Folio, original material written by the Bront√ęs, stunning illuminated medieval manuscripts and rare books from across the globe.

What we are doing

The Gallery offers a lively programme of public events, including talks, drop in activities and workshops.

We hold many different activities in our educational space, The Sheppard Room, from University classes to school and community group activities.
