Journal subscription suggestion

Suggestions for new journals can be submitted at any time, although titles are usually only reviewed once a year, during May and June. This review allows schools to monitor the balance of their annual journal, book and standing-order commitments.

Due to the recurrent and rising cost of journals, we normally expect that any new journal title will be approved by either the head of school or the relevant Library representative.

Send any proposed titles, using the form below, to the Library by the end of April. Suggestions will be considered during the review period, by the end of June. Any further negotiations between the Library and the school (eg over sharing subscription costs with other departments) will also take place during the review period. Any new titles that schools have agreed to fund will then be ordered by the Library.

Orders for new journals will not usually be accepted after the April deadline, except in exceptional circumstances. This is to ensure that all of our new subscriptions are dealt with simultaneously, and invoiced appropriately. Suggestions submitted after the deadline will normally be considered during the following year.

Check the Library Catalogue for current subscriptions before submitting a request.
