It's time to step up to your Masters

Our Step up to Masters resource and programme is designed to help you make the leap to studying at postgraduate level.

Starting your Masters can be challenging, but our Step up to Masters resource can help. You can explore the academic experience and get a feel for the expectations at the University of Leeds – while also improving your academic skills.

There’s a wide range of free support available for postgraduates – from online workshops, one-to-one appointments, to learning resources – to help develop your study skills such as essay writing, critical thinking, and maths and statistics skills.


We’ve also put together a programme of express workshops starting on Wednesday 23 September designed to support study at postgraduate level.

The workshops will all take place online at 1:15 – 1:45pm on the following dates:

Developing academic confidence

  • Thursday 24 September
  • Wednesday 30 September

Managing your reading

  • Wednesday 23 September
  • Friday 25 September

Working in diverse groups

  • Monday 28 September

Developing your academic voice

  • Tuesday 29 September
  • Thursday 1 October
