The study skills needed at University can be very different from school or college, but with knowledge comes confidence.

Flying Start covers all the essentials, from how to get the most from lectures and tutorials, time management, tackling your first assignment and the how and why of referencing.

Featuring videos and tips from Leeds students, Flying Start is a valuable source of practical advice on coping with the first year.

Workshops

We also offer free, 30 minute express workshops that will help you prepare for studying at the University of Leeds.

The workshops will all take place online at 1:15 – 1:45pm on the following dates:

Flying Start to referencing

  • Wednesday 23 September
  • Monday 28 September

Flying Start to managing your time in semester 1

  • Thursday 24 September
  • Tuesday 29 September

Flying Start to making the most of your lectures

  • Friday 25 September
  • Wednesday 30 September
