Brotherton and Special Collections reopening

From 12 April, the Brotherton Library and Special Collections Research Centre will reopen.

We are increasing campus study space availability with the reopening of the Brotherton, along with offering in-person research in Special Collections. We are also extending opening hours at other campus libraries – see our full opening hours for details.

Covid-safety restrictions continue to be in place.

Studying at the Brotherton 

The Brotherton Library will open on Monday 12 April with study sessions available to book now

There will be more socially distanced study space with powered and unpowered desks available in the round Reading Room and on the level four balcony – as well as in the West Building.

Shelves remain off-limits for browsing so please continue to request books through our click and collect service.

Special Collections

The Special Collections Research Centre will open from 10am on Tuesday offering in-person access to our extensive collections of rare and unique items.

We will be open for reduced hours with sessions available between 10am and 1pm and 2pm and 4pm, Tuesday to Thursday. There are four spaces available in each session.

Virtual consultations and photos on request are still available if you prefer to research off-campus. Virtual consultations will take place on Mondays.
