Our new Special Collections search and browse facility is nearing completion. It includes our archive and manuscript collections, with digitised content where available. Books will be added in November.

This will bring a transformational change in the way researchers can find and view rare and unique materials held in the University Library.

User testing was undertaken during the summer to find out what features undergraduates, postgraduates and academics expect to have when searching for rare and unique material online. This feedback has shaped the development work undertaken and a beta version of the new search facility is now available.

There is still a lot to do to improve the information being made available and many more tools that could be developed. We welcome feedback to ensure further refinements meet user requirements.

Throughout the autumn we will be carrying out further user testing. If you would be interested in taking part, please contact us.
