RAG magazine covers have been digitised to coincide with RAG week.

The history of student fundraising at Leeds is revealed through the front covers of RAG magazine "Tyke", recently digitised and put online by the Library.

Leeds RAG (Raise and Give) is the official fundraising society of Leeds University Union - annually raising around £300,000 for a wide variety of local, national and international causes.

The important heritage of the society in Leeds is valued in the University Archive, with editions of the RAG magazine "Tyke" dating back to the 1920's. The RAG Mag is one of the oldest traditions in student fundraising and its development is captured in Tyke, filled with (sometimes not very politically correct!) humour and sold for charity during RAG week.

Nowadays the magazine is used as a way to let students know how they can get involved with RAG. It is filled with information about all the incredible things students can do to fundraise for good causes. From the humble origins of Tyke, Leeds RAG now takes students as far afield as Kilimanjaro and Peru, raising thousands of pounds for charity and having a great time doing it.
