Self-issue and book return upgrades

New and improved self-issue machines and book return slots will be installed in all campus libraries from 31 January.

The new machines have a slimmer design and are easier to use. They can issue a number of books at one time, with no need to individually scan barcodes.

Work to replace these machines will continue throughout February but there will be no break in service as there will always be a machine available, whether it's an old or a new one, in each library.

The book return slot at the Laidlaw will be out of action sometime during Monday 7 to Friday 18 February, so you can return any items to the road level book return slot at the back of the Laidlaw on Hillary Place.

If you return something through the Hillary Place slot, your Library record will be updated the next day when the books are processed.

During this time, the book return slot in the Edward Boyle Library will also be unavailable so please return Edward Boyle items at kiosks within the library.

Get in touch and tell us what you think about the new self-issue and book return machines.
