Multi-screen technology to help make group work work

If you are working in a bookable group study room or booth in the Laidlaw Library, AirMedia allows you to share your laptop screens with the whole group, and seamlessly switch between each other's screens.

AirMedia is software that wirelessly connects up to four laptops on the big screen in a group room or booth. The screen display from each laptop is shown in a quarter of the big screen, so you can each see all of the connected screens at once.

For example, a small group might have one person checking the assignment requirements in the VLE, another viewing recommended journal articles, a third starting to construct a document in Word and a fourth doing some searching on issues that arise as you discuss the work. You would all be able to see each other's activity on the big screen, share ideas, and easily bring everything together.
