Library buys books to support LUU campaign to diversify resources

Following the successful "Why Is My Curriculum White? Wish List" campaign over Christmas the Library has purchased 28 new items.

The books cover a number of subjects including theatre, sociology and social policy, law, politics and history and explore a wide range of topics.

The Why Is My Curriculum White? campaign aims to diversify the curriculum and the supporting resources available at the University. Melissa Owusu, Education Officer, is leading the campaign and says:

"I'm really excited to see the items suggested by students as part of #WIMCW out on the Library's shelves. It's been great to have their support on the Why Is My Curriculum White? campaign and hope that students continue to request new items using the #WIMCW hashtag to continue this drive for change.

Leeds University Union are also currently running an online survey to explore the diversity of curriculums across the university. Complete the survey to help shape the campaign's next steps and to be in with a chance of winning an exciting prize."

You can still request items that you would like the Library to buy. Fill in our book purchase suggestion form and use #WIMCW in the additional information box.
