Use online tools from Vitae to develop your research excellence and employability

There is a suite of online resources for researchers that help with professional development.

Why should you be concerned about professional development?

It makes sense to plan out your goals and aspirations and how you will achieve them. What skills will you need to refine and nurture? What support or training will you need to secure? Structured professional development plans help you to identify areas in need of development, create action plans and record progress.

What is the Researcher Development Framework?

The Researcher Development Framework (RDF) is used by many higher education institutions worldwide. It provides best practice in enhancing knowledge, abilities, training and skills to ensure the wider impact of research.

Professional development tools

  • Vitae RDF Planner
You can use the RDF planner to identify strengths, write action plans, review key achievements and create professional portfolios.
  • Vitae's PDP ROC (Professional Development Planning for Researchers Online Course)
This online course gives insight into how to plan and execute all areas of your professional development.

How do I register?

You can register and get access to the Researcher Development Framework using your University of Leeds email address.
