Essential preservation work will be carried out

Special Collections will be closed to visitors from Monday 22 August until it reopens on Wednesday 31 August. 

The closure is to accommodate 'Action Week'. This involves staff working in the store areas, re-organising collections and undertaking essential preservation activities.

This crucial work aims to make the retrieval of collections more efficient, and provide a better service for visitors.

Opening hours will be kept up to date on the website.

The team would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure.
