Essential preservation work will be carried out

Special Collections will be closed to visitors from Monday 21 August until it reopens on Wednesday 30 August.

The closure is to accommodate "Action Week". This involves staff working in the store areas, re-organising collections and undertaking essential preservation activities.

This crucial work aims to make the retrieval of collections more efficient, and provide a better service for visitors.

The closure also includes the University's bank holiday closure days (26-29 August).

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by our temporary closure. We will continue to manage departmental enquiries and respond to you when we re-open on Wednesday 30 August.
