As the new term begins, the Library can offer help, both online and in person. 

For all new students

Library Quickstart contains all the information you'll need as a new student. Discover how to:

  • use Search@Library to locate online resources such as ebooks, databases, journals and articles for your studies
  • find items on your reading lists
  • borrow and renew items from our libraries 
  • manage your Library record
  • make the most of our workshops, webinars and 1-1 support.

For postgraduates

Skills for Success helps taught postgraduate students develop the academic skills needed at Masters level. It introduces the wide range of academic skills support that is available from the Library. Students who are new to studying at a UK institution may find the resource particularly helpful. It covers:

  • searching for information
  • being organised
  • academic writing
  • critical thinking
  • where to find further help.
