Exhibition reveals Olympics past and present

A new Special Collections exhibition shines a torch on Olympic competitions past and present.

Explore the origin of the games, from ancient Olympia with depictions of chariot races and odes to victory, to the recent past, with images of promotional posters from the 1948 London Olympics.  These amongst a host of other archive items illustrate the talents and trials of athletes reaching for glory throughout the ages.

The exhibition runs from 30 July - 18 August, in Special Collections, on the fourth floor of the Brotherton Library.
