Easter holidays at the Library

Easter weekend closure, holiday opening times, renewals and fines - everything you need to know about Easter break.

With the end of term fast approaching, we're here to give you a run-down of the info you will need to know about the Library over the holiday period.

Easter vacation runs from 29 March until 29 April. The Library will remain open over the break with some changes to opening hours.

Easter weekend

All libraries will close at 5pm on Maundy Thursday 18 April. The Library is closed over Easter weekend, but the Laidlaw Library will open from 8am until midnight on Tuesday 23 April. The rest of the University continues to be closed on Tuesday 23 April.

Some computer clusters will be available for study over the Easter weekend.

Borrowing and returning books

Please check that any books you have on loan haven't been recalled—any recalled books need to be returned within three days. If a book is recalled during the break, you will receive an email to let you know.

To check if items have been requested, you can:

If requested books are not returned by the due date there is a fine of £2.50 per item per day. This applies for each day the Library is open past the due date.

You can return books in person by taking them to any library on campus, or you can return items by post. See our full guide to returning and renewing.

Digital resources

Over the Easter break, you still have full access all of our online resources.

You can access ebooks and journals through Library search.

Dig into our research databases to find journal articles on any subject.

There's advice and guidance on a range of topics available at our study and research support pages.

Final Chapter

For all of you with final project deadlines coming up—don't forget, we have a fantastic resource available in the Final Chapter. It helps you through all stages of your research project, all the way up to revising, editing and proofreading your work.

Staying in Leeds over the holiday?

There's a full programme of events both on and off campus for all those who will be around over the break. There are volunteering sessions, sketch clubs, coffee socials and lots more.
