Easter at the Library

Opening hours, click and collect and enquiries – what you need to know about the Library over the Easter weekend.

Across the Easter weekend, we will continue to offer study space, but we’re taking a short break in responding to enquiries, retrieving items for click and collect and posting items to UK addresses.

We’re open

Both the Laidlaw and the Edward Boyle Libraries will open across the full Easter weekend University closure period, for the first time ever.

Both libraries are open 9am-8pm on weekdays and 10am-5pm on the weekends.

The Health Sciences Library, along with wider campus study spaces, will close on Maundy Thursday and reopen at 9am on Wednesday 7 April.

See our full Library opening hours.

Last orders for click and collect/receiving items by post

Please get any click and collect or contact us with your postal requests to us by end of Monday 29 March so that we can retrieve these for you ahead of the Easter weekend. You can continue to collect books any time that the Edward Boyle is open.

We will do our best to get items in the post for you in time for Easter but please be aware that there are postal delays with Royal Mail due to Covid.

We will process your requests again from Wednesday 7 April.

Enquiries will close

We won’t be available to answer enquiries over the Easter weekend. Enquiries will close at 12.30pm on Maundy Thursday and reopen at 9am on Wednesday 7 April. If you contact us by email during this time, we will respond after enquiries reopen.

Over the Easter break, you still have full access all of our online resources.

You can access ebooks and journals through Library search.

Dig into our research databases to find journal articles on any subject.

There's advice and guidance on a range of topics, including exams and revision, available at our study and research support pages.
