Group study area in Health Sciences Library reopens

Revise for exams in comfort at the newly refurbished group study space.
The collaborative learning area in Health Sciences Library, tucked away on floor 7 of the Worsley Building, has reopened after completion of a major refurbishment project. The reopening comes at an ideal time for students, allowing them to utilise the extra study space in time for the busy exam period.
The vibrant, new learning zone boasts a sleek and elegant design accentuating natural lighting and greenery as well as a range of innovative amenities:
• personal and group workstations where you can plug in your laptop
• soundproof group pods with sustainable, motion sensor-controlled ventilation
• acoustic baffling to better control sound levels, decreasing noise from conversations
• comfortable seating throughout the space.
The new area is also attentive to accessibility needs, ensuring every student has access to facilities and resources within the space. There is wheelchair access to the mezzanine floor via a door in the Level 8 corridor and the space has been designed with inclusivity in mind for neurodiverse students.
With the assessment period beginning on 19 May, students from across all faculties and schools can make use of the refreshed space to revise for their upcoming exams in comfort. The collaborative learning area is open for all students and staff from midday on 16 May 2025.
