Library achieves excellent results in the International Student Barometer

The International Student Barometer (ISB) is the largest study of international student satisfaction in the world. It surveys over 160,000 international students worldwide and over 64,000 in the UK. ISB is an online questionnaire run by I-Graduate, an independent external research company which provides bench mark scores against other institutions.

The recently released 2012 ISB results show that our Library has once again achieved outstanding ratings. The ISB focuses on four main elements: arrival, learning, living and support. The following key library areas were included in the 2012 survey:

  • physical library
  • online library
  • virtual learning
  • learning support
  • learning spaces

In each area Leeds was ranked in the top five participating Russell Group universities, achieving an international student satisfaction score of over 90% on each measure. For 'virtual learning' Leeds was again ranked 1st among 16 Russell Group universities, 3rd in the UK (60 participating universities), and 5th in the world (188 universities), maintaining our top ratings achieved in the 2010 ISB.
