As of August 1st 2017 the block grant received from the Charity Open Access Fund is running low.

The grant runs annually from October 1st - September 31st. While we have been informed we will be in receipt of a new grant from October 2017, there is a possibility that there may not be sufficient funds remaining in the meantime to pay for all requested APCs resulting from Arthritis Research UK, Bloodwise, British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK, Parkinson's UK and Wellcome Trust funded research.

If you are a researcher wanting to make use of the grant please contact us as early as possible - ideally at the point of submission to the relevant publisher - so we can assess available funds.

The open access fund pays article processing charges where funding is acknowledged from the following: Arthritis Research UK, Bloodwise, British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK, Parkinson's UK, Research Councils UK, Wellcome Trust, and WELMEC.

BEFORE you submit your article for publication; please complete and submit this form.

If you have already been accepted for publication, you will be asked to confirm that details of the output have been added to Symplectic, the University publications database.

Please note that APC funds can only be released where it is demonstrated that your funder requirements are met.

We will contact you with the result of your application and you will receive a PO number if successful. Please do not raise a SIPR. For more help please contact us.
