Claire Knowles

Claire Knowles joined the Library’s Leadership Team in 2018.

Claire leads on the development and support of all the systems that underpin the work of the library. She is responsible for the Library management system, the University's virtual learning environment (Minerva), the institutional repository (White Rose Research Online) and Symplectic. Claire is the Library’s link to the University’s IT service.

Claire is also responsible for all library services that support research staff and students. This includes research data archiving, the researcher training programme, open access compliance checking, data management planning tools and ORCiD implementation.

Claire was at the University of Edinburgh, Library and University Collections before joining Leeds University Library. She was the Open Repositories Conference Programme Committee Co-Chair 2018 and is a co-chair of the International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF) Outreach Group.
