Description

Comprises the correspondence Wood received from his many acquaintances. Most of the correspondents are Friends in Yorkshire, but some write from abroad, particularly America. They write primarily about religious matters including Friends' meetings and the writers' spiritual health.

The letters also cover business and social topics. There are letters relating to Wood's business as a cloth merchant including requests for material. Some correspondents ask for Wood's advice about their physical health and hiring servants.

Many letters are undated. A possible date has been attributed to these using watermarks on the paper where they exist, and the content of the letter.
