MS 1510 Comprises lecture notes, Yorkshire Arts Association work, sketches, photographs, a collection of artists' books and original artwork, notebook containing original research on Roger Fry, with autograph letters; also, additional material relating to Education and Community Workshops in collaboration with a colleague, possibly Jane Whitaker, Deputy Director, St Paul's Gallery, York, 1986-1989.

Biography or history

Stephen Chaplin, artist and art historian, studied at the Slade School and the Courtauld Institute of Art. He taught at the Leeds College of Art from 1961 to 1966, and at the University of Leeds from 1966 to 1991. After moving to London, he became Archivist to the Slade in 1993 and published 'A Slade School of Fine Art archive reader' in 1998.
