Description

The border and initial are historiated with the scene of the Nativity in the stable. The Virgin Mary is dressed in a blue gown, her hands together in prayer, and looking down at the Christ Child lying on her cloak. Golden rays shine from Christ's body. Joseph is seen inside the foliate initial 'G, holding a candle. Two onlookers and the ox and the ass are behind the wattle fence, and two angels above them in the background.
