Description

The full-page miniature depicts the scene of the Nativity in the stable. The Virgin Mary, dressed in a blue gown and a cloak highlighted in gold, and Joseph, dressed in red and blue garments, kneel and look down in adoration at the Christ Child lying on a white cloth. Rays of gold project from Christ and descend from the sky. The ox and the ass look upon the scene. The border is formed from architectural pillars supporting the statues of two shepherds.
