Description

The records date from 1831 to the present day and are held in a paper and digital format. There are records for committee, administrative, academic and other departmental services, and for staff, students and other individuals with close personal associations to the University. Large collections of plans, drawings and photographs give insight into campus development and life.

Administrative or biographical history

The University Archive was set up in 1977 to preserve the records of the University of Leeds and its predecessor bodies the Yorkshire College of Science, Yorkshire College and Leeds Medical School.
